Plans for actual friend groups

Pay for the Minecraft server
your friends actually need.

Try a small world for free. Pay €4.99 a month for the plan most groups need: around 10 people online together, with mods, plugins and Java–Bedrock cross-play. Every plan includes daily backups; paid plans have a 30-day refund window.

Early-access prices

A private server shouldn’t cost
more than the game.

Every plan works the same simple way: one address, just join whenever you want. Paid plans start quickly whenever a player joins; free plans may need to wait for shared capacity. All plans include daily backups.

The player number means online together, not invited in total. Bring the whole Discord. If only ten are usually online at once, the 10-player plan is the right one.

Why the free plan can involve a wait: free worlds share a limited pool of servers. When it is full, your world waits for a space. Paid worlds get priority, so your group can get in quickly.

Before you decide

Straight answers.

Still wondering about something? Email [email protected] and ask us directly.

Which plan does my group actually need?
Go by the number of people who are usually online at the same time, not the size of your Discord. Free is enough to try a small vanilla world. Crew is the sensible choice for most groups: about 10 people playing together, plus mods, plugins and Java–Bedrock cross-play. You can change plans later.
Can I invite more people than the plan says?
Yes. The player figure is a comfortable number online together, not a limit on invitations. A 10-player Crew world can have 30 people on its whitelist if only a smaller group tends to play at once.
Do I have to know how to run a Minecraft server?
No. Pick a plan and tell us what kind of world you want. WorldFolder handles the server setup, access and backups. You still decide who joins and whether you want vanilla, plugins or a modpack.
What is WorldFolder?
WorldFolder is Minecraft hosting where nobody has to be the starter. Your world keeps one address, starts when a friend joins, and costs what you actually need. No RAM selectors, no JVM flags, no “can you start the server?” texts.
Is there a free Minecraft server hosting tier?
Yes. Every WorldFolder starts free: 2 GB RAM, about 4 players at once, 5 GB storage, one permanent address — included forever. Your friends just join, and the world starts itself. Free worlds start when shared capacity is available, and may wait briefly when the platform is busy. Paid plans start fast and cost from €1.99/month.
How much will it cost?
The planned early-access prices run from €0 to €12.99 a month. Crew—the plan most friend groups will want—is €4.99 a month for about 10 people playing together, with mods, plugins and cross-play. Paying yearly costs 30% less. The waitlist is not a purchase, and we will show the final price before asking you to pay.
Does somebody have to turn the server on?
No. A friend connects using the normal Minecraft server list and WorldFolder handles the rest. Paid worlds get priority and target a start in under 10 seconds. Free worlds target about 20 seconds once capacity is available, but can wait at busy times. Those times are targets until production testing is complete.
Can I use mods and plugins?
Yes, on Crew and larger plans. Pick a pack such as Cobblemon, Better MC, Create or All the Mods, or add useful plugins for homes, land claims, voice chat and web maps. Some very large packs may need a bigger plan.
Can Java and Bedrock players share a world?
That is planned for Crew and larger plans. Java, Bedrock and mobile players can join the same compatible world. Heavily modded Java worlds are the exception because Bedrock clients do not have the same mod content.
Can I bring an existing world?
Yes. Upload your world and keep building where you left off. You can also download it again at any time if you want a local copy or decide to host somewhere else.
How many separate worlds can I keep?
As many as fit in your storage. A typical world uses roughly 5–10 GB, although explored or heavily modded worlds can be larger. Crew includes 20 GB, which is usually enough for two to four ordinary worlds.
What if it is not right for us?
Email us within the first 30 days of a paid plan for a full refund. You can export the world before you go, so trying WorldFolder does not put your save at risk.
Are my worlds backed up?
Yes. Free keeps the latest daily backup. Paid plans keep seven days, which gives you a way back after a bad update, accidental destruction or griefing. Backups count towards the storage included with your plan.
Does joining the waitlist commit me to anything?
No. It tells us which plan interests you and lets us email you when early access opens. We do not take a card or reserve a paid order. You will see the final service and price before deciding.
